1. Library The house, in which Sri.Dr.Radhakrishnan, Former President of India was born, is handed over to Devasthanam and Devasthanarn constructed a beautiful building and runs a Library. There are about 3,885 books in the library. Books of Sangam period religious books, philosphical books of Dr. Radhakrishnan, Novels, Short Storys and Essays in Telugu, Tamil, English Sanscrit and Hindi, of various authors are availble in the library. 2.Karunai Illam karunai Illam is the name given to the Orphanage being maintained by the Devasthanam. There are two separate orphanages for boys and girls wherein 49 boys and 28 girls are accommodated respectively. Free accommodation dress, food and education are provided to them by the Devasthanam. 3. Free Marriages From the temple funds, marriage of poor couples are conducted at free of cost. In the year 1981 about 98 poor couples, in 1988 about 5 poor couples, again in 1997 about 79 poor couples and in 2002 about 25 couples got married. 4.Donation to Govenment arts college. To start a Government Arts College at Tiruttani. Tiruttani Sri Subramanyaswamy Devasthanam donated Rs.5 lakhs to the Government and hence, the college was named after the Devasthanam as “Arulmigu Subramanyaswamy Devasthanam Government arts College” and the College is situated north of Tiruttani, on Tiruttani – Chennai Road at about 4 kms., away from Tiruttani. Graduate and Post Graduate Courses are offered. 5. Siddha Hospital In the year 1971 Devasthanam started Siddha Hospital at Tiruttani Hill Temple and at sub Temples of Tiruttani for the benefit of devotees and general public. The Hospital is functioning at the following places on the days noted against each. 1. Tiruttani Hill Temple : Every Monday, Friday and Sunday 2. Thiruvalangadu Temple : Every Thursday 3. Maddur Temple : Every Tuesday 4. Karimbedu Temple : Every Wednesday | |
